Colemon Graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan
Colemon Potts is a Partner at Detroit Legal Group, PLLC, following more than six years of service as an Associate Attorney. He earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and holds an undergraduate degree from Georgia State University.
Colemon’s legal practice centers on criminal defense, commercial and residential property litigation, and personal injury. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in securing millions of dollars in judgments and settlements on behalf of his clients. His dedication to justice and client advocacy is unwavering, both inside and outside the courtroom.
An active leader in the legal guild, Colemon has served on numerous boards and committees. In Michigan, he has held positions with the Executive Committee for the State Bar of Michigan Criminal Law Section, the Polish American Legal Society, and the State Bar of Michigan Board of Commissioner as well accomplished many goals as the Chair for the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section.
Nationally, Colemon is also recognized for his leadership within the American Bar Association (ABA). His ABA roles have included Co-Chair of the Minorities in the Profession Committee, District Representative to the State of Michigan, Co-Chair for the Men of Color Project, and Chair of the Law Conference for the Judicial Division.
